Metro Parks and Nashville
Cricket Club invite you to
Krayon Kids!
NCC is committed to serving families in the
Nashville community. One way NCC is able to do this is through co-sponsorship
of one session per month of metro Parks Bellevue Community Center
Krayon Kids session. This is a free program
open to the public without any registration required. Families with
children five and under have the opportunity to come to the center
to enjoy free play in the gym, circle time where they say the pledge,
arts and crafts, educational centers and refreshments. NCC provides
all the supplies and volunteers for these monthly parent/child enrichment
sessions. Monthly sessions are also held for kids ages 6-16 which
include arts and crafts, refreshments and cricket.

2004
January 27 (Tuesday) “What
Do Animals Do In the winter?”
Join us as we read, talk, and make crafts
about animals in the winter and how they hibernate. Wear your favorite
warm pajamas and take a turn hibernating in our special cave.
February 12 (Thursday)“Meet
the Tooth fairy!”
The Metro Public Health Dept. will be bringing
the tooth fairy to visit with the children about dental hygiene.
Following this 30-minute program we will make a Valentines Day craft
and have a special snack.
March 9 (Tuesday) “All About
Dinosaurs”
Join us as we explore the world of dinosaurs
through books, discussion, games and crafts.
April 20 (Tuesday) “Enviromutt
Visits to present a Puppet Show”
You won’t want to miss this delightful
professional children’s puppet show, which talks about our
environment and how we can protect it.
May 11 (Tuesday) “Bugs in the
Backyard”
Learn about the creepy, crawly creatures
we find in our backyard as we read books and make crafts about bugs.
June 03 (Thursday) "I is for
Ice Cream"
Join us as we kick off the summer by making homemade ice cream sundaes.
This fun filled morning will also include arts and crafts, circle
time and other activities.
July 1 (Thursday) “Let’s
Celebrate America”
Join us as we celebrate the 4th of July with arts and crafts, refreshments,
activities, circle time and lots more!
August 5 (Thursday) “Summer
Olympics”
You won’t want to miss this special event where the kids will
participate in a variety of field games. The children will decorate
their own medals and have a parade at the conclusion of the games.
Arts and crafts and refreshments will also be available.
September 7, 2004 “Mmm, Mmm,
Apples” 10-11:30am Ages 5 & Under with parent
Based on Scholastic’s Clifford take home magazine, children
will enjoy a circle time learning about the different colors of
apples, and the foods we make with apples. The morning will also
include working with their parent at different centers with educational
activities and arts & crafts.
October 8, 2004 “Fall Harvest”
4-5:30 pm Ages 6-16
Join us as we celebrate Fall with arts and crafts, refreshments,
and roller skating (skates provided by the center! )
October 14 2004 “Fall Festival”
10-11:30am Ages 5 & Under with parent
Dress your child up in their favorite costume for a fun morning
of Fall theme arts & crafts, refreshments, and a parade where
the children get to trick or treat.
November 11 2004 “Thanksgiving Feast” 10-11:30am
Ages 5 & Under with parent
Scholastic’s Clifford Magazine teaches the kids about Thanksgiving
at circle time. Kids will have a chance to make crafts to dress
up for our own little Thanksgiving Feast with snacks.
November 12 2004 “Thanksgiving
Feast” 4-5:30 pm Ages 6-16
Children will come together to prepare traditional Thanksgiving
recipes and then sit down together to enjoy a feast of Thanksgiving!
Kids will then have a chance to rollerskate to work off some of
the calories from the delicious foods they feasted on!
December 9 2004 “Holiday Traditions”
10-11:30am Ages 5 & Under with parent
Based on Scholastic’s Clifford the Big Red Dog Magazine, kids
will celebrate different Holiday Traditions. We encourage you to
bring your favorite holiday treat to share with everyone at this
exciting day full of crafts, food and fun!
December 10 2004 “Holiday Celebration”
4-5:30 pm Ages 6-16
Roller skate to holiday music and enjoy cookies and punch as we
celebrate the upcoming holidays!
