In league matches, Seamers scored the highest total
of the tournament 107 runs against MTSU with Rizwan and Qandil doing
bulk of scoring. Tony Mould’s NOCC lost first game against
NCC Kings but fought valiantly to beat Memphis Cricket Club in the
final league game. Memphis cricket club the winners of last year's
'Music City Cricket Tournament' had a bit hard time in adjusting
to the indoor environment, but they still managed to beat NCC Panthers
with ease. Rakesh batted very well in the both Panthers games. League
games in the group B created lot of excitement as each team won
one game. On run rate basis NOCC and Panthers made to semi finals.
In Group A, Seamers and Panthers reached semifinals.
In the first Semi final, Seamers batted first. Kings
bowled very well and restricted Seamers to 79. The target was not
that hard to get. Kings started well and scored with ease. There
were a number of run outs that kept Seamers in the game. Rakesh
and Aley batted quite well. In the last over, Panthers needed four
from last ball; with one wide, three needed, but the bowler kept
his cool and bowled last ball a bit short of length that batsman
hit directly to the fielder. Only one run scored...Seamers won..
In the second semi final, Panthers easily beat NOCC.
Waseem bowled Lyder on the first ball that took all the steam out
of NOCC. Though Jason tried to get the inning together with good
batting, but total was not enough. Waseem and Adnan bowled a pretty
tight line and length and did not give batsman chance to score.
Panthers reached the total with relative ease. Again Hunain and
Waseem did bulk of the scoring. The brightest spot in NOCC's innings
was Jason's fielding; who with his excellent acrobatic ground fielding
and catching got lots of applause from spectators.
