Taped tennis Ball cricket is quite popular in India and Pakistan. This type of cricket does not require most of the protection gear needed to play the game. The rules are quite similar to the normal cricket. Some of the great Pakistani cricketers including World's fastest bowler Shoaib Akhter often played tennis ball cricket. A plastic tape is wrapped around the ball to make it zippy. Since it is played on a hard surface, the ball comes to the batsman at quite a high speed and bounce.
